Statement: This thesis is an ethical investigation between form and material in image making. The produced work attempts to develop strategies of prolonging the photographic moment and the consumption of an image. The process includes translating an image through both tactile and digital mediums in an effort to emphasize physical intervention in the process of production.

This series of work investigates spaces that lie in between public and private, detachment and intimacy, invasion and invitation, digital and tactile, destruction and creation, intention and chance. I was told to ‘leave the roots on’.

Printed in conclusion of my MFA in Design at California College of the Arts, this book reflects every step of my thesis year. All text is taken directly from my thesis notebook. Nothing was edited or removed. This book fosters different rates of engagement with the work. Many projects are stretched over multiple pages or resolved later on in the book.

This is not meant to be a celebration or reflection of the final “conclusion” of the work... it is meant to show the process, every step - the failures and successes. This series of thesis work investigates spaces that lie in between public and private, invasion and invitation – a concept mirrored in the design of this book.
